End of Module Evaluation (Self-Branding)

For this brief in the module , honestly at first I felt really confused. I felt like it was maybe too early for us to do this because I didn't really know what I want to do in the future yet. Although, through the mind maps that we did I did find something that which I really find interesting and I realised that I've known for quite a long time. At first, my ideas were really complicated and I was going back and forth with my ideas for about 3-4 times I didn't really think things quite deeply and was stuck for a long time. Also, because I was going back and forth with my ideas I felt like I've wasted some days doing nothing and when I finally got the idea that I was looking for when I finally solidified what I wanted to do, I didn't have enough time and therefore didn't really have proper initial ideas. And, although everything made sense in my head I felt like with the way I was working I was skipping steps. This was something that I really regret doing and something that I wish I could go back and do again because I honestly wasn't happy with the process that I was doing with making up with ideas and developing.

In contrast though, I thought the presentation went better than I expected because I thought I did really poorly. Maybe it was because I knew quite a lot about the topic that I was doing however when it came to talking about my applications my storyboards were too cramped, which I agree on. However, I did try and improve it after the presentation to at least improve it from what it was before.  overall, this brief wasn't;t really my strongest suit and I felt that because I was too hesitant and confused about the work that I didn't manage my time properly, leading me to create designs which wasn't to the standards that I personally wanted. In the future though, I will try to keep up more and think really well on my starting ideas because that's what I feel like I'm lacking with the most; so that I can work smoothly and quickly as well as have a clear working process as it goes on.

End of Module Evaluation (Film Festival)

For brief in the module, at first I quite liked the idea of working it groups, because I haven't really worked with a lot of other people in the class yet, apart from my friends. I also personally liked the brief of branding a film festival and curating films. It was also exciting how so early on in the year we get to communicate face-to-face with actual industry designers and talk to them one on one. I've learnt quite a lot form it as I learn how to act and responds and what questions to asked them, the designers (From Form particularly) were very nice and it made me even more comfortable of possibly talking or reaching out to designers in the industry if ever I was interested in something they do or want to personally ask them question.

Overall, working in our team was quite nine but also a bit stressful. Our group got long pretty well, however at the start of the brief no one was really taking charge or starting up conversations, maybe because we didn't really know each other, but it meant that we were quite slow and passive with our ideas, it also didn't help how some of our group mates weren't coming in which caused us a bit of stress, but our group managed by just working with whoever was around. Although, because of miscommunication we did have some problems, we still managed to create our designs quite well at the end, I just hoped that we didn't have to waste time because I felt like our presentation wasn't really up to par with the designs we made.

This brief overall, was quite helpful in terms of how I could adjust to groups and group projects. It was also helpful for me to know how to help and push my ideas to the group as well as give my own opinions because I felt like before doing this or group work in general I didn't really voice out my opinion or ideas in case they weren't really good. However, I feel that now I can do it and doing it will actually help the group move forward. This is something that I'd like to bring with me in future group projects that I'd do and I feel the now I'm a little bit more opinionated and decisive with my choices.

Improvement on Presentation

I decided to improve my presentation from the one that I presented to the group as I felt it lack some aspects when I looked back at it and when I was watching other people present it.

  • I've decided to add colour to the presentation to make it more colourful and bright compared to the white background, I also thought it gave it more character and relevance to the topic. I've picked yellow and blue as I thought they have a great contrast and could work well with the name of the brand 'Audio Vision' and how it reflect back to designing for Kpop groups and companies; for its bright and colourful feel as well as the sophisticated, in-depth and detail orientated designs.
  • I have also made some collages which were suggested in the presentation because the storyboards that I made were too cramped and it broke the phase of my presentation, I also thought making the collages were a good idea because if I were to present it again it would take me less time to explain it as it is clearly visually presented.
